Hair Essence Oil
£49.99
Pure botanical oil to strengthen, nourish and restore hair, naturally.
The award-winning rosemary treatment for hair and scalp — 29 botanicals, one bottle.
Hair Essence began with Samina's own experience of menopause hair loss. Searching for something she could truly believe in, she turned to traditional botanical oils and herbs, and made a natural overnight treatment by hand.
Rosemary sits at the heart of the blend — one of the most turned-to botanicals for hair and scalp — slowly infused rather than simply added, so it becomes part of a complete 29-ingredient treatment. It's an overnight ritual, used around three times a week, that rewards consistency more than anything else.

Frequently asked questions
Is rosemary oil good for hair?
Rosemary is one of the most turned-to botanicals for hair and scalp care, and it leads the 29-ingredient Hair Essence blend.
How do I use Gold Earth Hair Essence?
As an overnight treatment about three times a week: massage into the scalp for 3–5 minutes, work through the lengths, leave overnight, then wash out in the morning. For extra shine, apply a few drops to damp hair after washing.
Can I use it if my hair feels thinner?
Yes. Hair Essence is made for hair that feels fine, weak or fragile, and for a dry scalp. It is a cosmetic oil rather than a medicine, so it cannot change why hair is thinning — if that is a concern, it is worth speaking to your GP or a trichologist. Most people use it two or three times a week as part of a routine.
Is it suitable for thinning or menopausal hair?
Yes — it is made to care for weak, fine and menopause-affected hair as part of a regular routine.
How long will one bottle last?
A 60ml bottle typically lasts around four to six weeks, depending on how often and how much you use.
Is it vegan and suitable for all hair types?
It is vegan, cruelty-free and suitable for straight, wavy, curly, coily and colour-treated hair, for all genders.
Do I need to patch test?
Yes, please do. Hair Essence contains nut oils (almond and argan) and essential oils. Patch test on your inner arm and wait 24 hours before first use, and stop if you notice redness, itching or a raised rash. For external use only, so avoid the eyes. Keep out of reach of children, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding speak to a healthcare professional first. More on allergy warning signs.
Is this just another rosemary oil?
No. Rosemary is one of 29 ingredients, not the whole formula. Most oils riding the trend are two or three oils with rosemary added. This is fifteen base oils, eight botanical extracts, five essential oils and vitamin E — a blend that comes from a family recipe made long before rosemary became fashionable.
What is actually in it?
Twenty-nine ingredients, exactly as listed in the product's CPSR safety assessment. Base oils: coconut, castor, grapeseed, extra virgin olive, avocado, argan, black seed (kalonji, Nigella sativa), jojoba, sea buckthorn, hemp seed, sweet almond, mustard seed (sarson), neem (Azadirachta indica), rosehip seed and wheat germ. Botanical extracts: rosemary leaf, curry leaf (kadi patta, Murraya koenigii), fenugreek seed (methi, Trigonella foenum-graecum), black seed, hibiscus flower (roselle, Hibiscus sabdariffa), clove bud, bay leaf and cinnamon bark. Essential oils: geranium, lavender, tea tree, frankincense and myrrh. Plus vitamin E (tocopherol). Free from synthetic fragrance, mineral oil and silicones. The label also declares the naturally occurring fragrance components linalool, geraniol and limonene. Contains sweet almond (nut) and wheat germ; tea tree can be a sensitiser, so patch test first.
Why is it £49.99 when other rosemary oils are £15?
Because it is a different kind of product. A £15 oil is usually two or three ingredients blended in bulk. This is 29, with the botanicals infused by hand in small batches in Wiltshire, and the range independently safety-assessed to UK cosmetic standards (CPSR). A 60ml bottle lasts most people four to six weeks used two or three times a week.
Will it help with patchy hair loss or alopecia?
If you have noticed a patch, please see your GP or a dermatologist first. Patchy hair loss has causes worth diagnosing, and there are treatments an oil cannot replace. Hair Essence is a botanical hair and scalp oil, a cosmetic product rather than a treatment. Many customers use it alongside whatever their doctor advises, for the ritual and for the condition of the hair itself.
