But how about we take a step back and instead look to our kitchen cupboards for facemask inspiration. You will perhaps find that the benefits explode tenfold with just three key kitchen ingredients: coffee grounds, avocados and strawberries.
Coffee Grounds
Rubbing coffee grounds on your skin may seem an unusual notion but stay with me. Apparently, there are many benefits to this ingredient other than just waking you up in the morning, inclusive of reducing inflammation, treating acne and maybe even fighting the effects of aging.
So what facemasks could you concoct out of your re-purposed coffee grounds? Well how about a DIY mask that only requires one other kitchen staple, honey!
To create your coffee and honey mask all you would require is two tablespoons of coffee grounds and one tablespoon of honey. Mix them together until a paste is formed, apply to the face and leave for 15 minutes. Once the times up, wash the paste off with warm water and ensure to moisturise.

Avocados
Avocados are unarguably delicious, especially when smeared on a lovely bit of toast. But there are more pro’s to this superfood than one would anticipate. When applied to your face you may find your skin is left moisturised and free from inflammation and redness! Oh and it additionally may help you in your fight against acne.
And once again you don’t have to leave your house to create this DIY facemask. All you have to do is cook-up some porridge, peel, de-pip and mash your avocado and then stir the mush together. And there you have it, an avocado and oatmeal facemask ready to hydrate and repair your skin within 15 minutes.
If you have naturally oily skin an avocado, lemon and egg mask should be your choice. Mash the avocado and then mix with lemon juice and egg whites until a paste is formed, apply and then leave for 20 minutes.
Strawberries
Turns out strawberries in yoghurt isn’t just a healthy snack, it’s also a great way to cure irritated skin!
For your acne defying strawberry and yoghurt facemask, all you need is around 3 tablespoons of plain yoghurt and the equivalent of this in strawberries. Make sure the two ingredients reach room temperature and blend together, apply to your face and then leave for a maximum of 15 minutes.
Honey is due another appearance and can be mixed with brown sugar and strawberries to create yet another anti-acne, exfoliating mask as reported by Byrdie.
Get your hands on 6 strawberries, a tablespoon each of honey and brown sugar, and last but not least, a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. After removing the strawberry stems, add to a blender with the other ingredients. Once a paste is created store the mask in the refrigerator for 12 hours. Once cooled apply the mask and after 10 minutes remove with the hot cloth method.
